I’ve always had the tech bug. As a race car technician I was able find an outlet for my tech passion as well as my creative and problem solving skills, all while getting my hands dirty wrenching on and developing some of the most technologically advanced vehicles in the world.
Driver feedback interpretation was particularly important - I needed to be able to ask the right questions and figure out what we needed to improve or fix to make the cars better.
The combination of these has led me to UX design to continue to improve products, create new and exciting ways to solve problems, and make people happier while they use them.
As a way improving my web design skills, I built this website starting with a bootstrap template and building upon it to create my own content.
User surveys, contextual inquiries, and user interviews will help assure I find what my user is looking for at the early stages of a project. I love a chance to get out and talk to users and to get to know them.
Utility + Usability = Useful. Provide the user with features they need, and make sure they are pleasant to use. What company doesn’t like happy users?
The needs of the user always come first, but they must also align with business goals too, this can be a delicate balancing act. Performing a task analysis and creating user flows will help us conquer this challenge! Feel the flow.
I aim to improve human well-being by creating products that are useful, usable, and accessible. This is achieved through focusing on usability and employing a user-driven evaluation and iteration process. We are all human, afterall.
Creating low fidelity prototypes early on and performing several rounds of user testing is critical for early product development. Program knowledge - inVision, Prott, Balsamiq, and of course, paper!
One of my favorite activities at all fidelitys! It’s great to watch my ideas come to life and evolve throughout the design process. Program knowledge - Sketch, Balsamiq, Photoshop.
